Description

his project is funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) to address the problem of substance misuse among adolescents. It is designed to work in partnership with school health coordinators and teachers in two counties in Michigan to evaluate the adaptation of a health curriculum tailored to address barriers to learning, particularly for youth exposed to trauma. The project is designed to provide teachers with trauma-informed training, hands-on assistance, and adapted content to improve student engagement and well-being and drug use outcomes.

Qualifications

Video editing experience and skills is preferred. Research assistants will need to complete the online training for research with human participants (CITI training).

Project Timeline

This position is open now. We are currently in preparation for the start of the clinical trial which runs from September 2021-June 2022

Duties

Assistants would work approximately 10 hours per week but may fluctuate depending on projects. Tasks would include working with the project coordinator and PI to script project videos based on needs including trauma-informed training and curriculum introduction video. Other duties may include assisting with the preparation of written materials, communication with community partners, and qualitative data collection and analysis.
