Civility on campus

There has been a virtual explosion of concern and also responses to issues of incivility and bullying on university campuses. I am interested in examining how universities are responding by examining their policies and procedures and any actions/programs undertaken to address these issues. I am particularly interested in understanding what compelled or motivated people on campus to take action. Thus, I will be interviewing people from various campuses to understand the why and how they designed and implemented their policies and actions.

Has had and done well in a research methods course in their discipline. Comfort with qualitative analysis of policies and the development of interview protocols.

Develop a database of policies and procedures; Do a content analysis of these policies: Help develop the interview protocol for conversations with campus staff on their responses to issues of civility and bullying on campus.
