Description
Our team has an exciting research opportunity available for an interested student(s). This project has been designed to assess the current state of knowledge, and clinical practices of physicians in Genesee County in regards to Legionnaire's disease (LD). LD cases are typically under-reported, and this project should shed some light on the current clinical diagnostic steps physicians take prior to testing and diagnosing LD. The results from this study will be used to direct clinician education, with the goal of reducing the risk of LD in the future.
Qualifications
-Applicant must be reliable and be available for 5-10 hours per week. Additional hours can also be arranged
-Experience with data analysis, including programs like SPSS preferred ; or an eagerness to learn this skill
-Ability to use excel, Microsoft word
-Experience or knowledge with survey monkey or Qualtrics
-Effective communication skills
-Proficient in writing and willing to collaborate on future manuscript and abstract preparations
Project Timeline
Start immediately until the end of the term (December 2017)
Duties
-Student would assist with data collection (survey distribution to physicians and practice mangers). This will be done electronically, over the phone, and in person.
-Data entry of hard copy surveys into Qualtrics software
-Creation of preliminary tables and figures in excel, or other programs
-Assist with data analysis and manuscript preparation
