Particle physics research

1) Analyze data from a particle physics experiment, CDF or CMS, on a topic of current interest to the professor and student.
2) Simulate data for a particle physics experiment to study possible analyses -- can be in combination with (1) or as a standalone project.
3) Detector R&D on a project of current interest to the professor and student.

Basic physics is a must. Higher level physics courses and programming experience (C++ or similar) is a plus.
