Description
Wayne Pediatrics is a practice in its infancy having been established less than three years ago. The mission of Wayne Pediatrics is to provide quality pediatric care and improve health outcomes for children and youth. We strive to serve as a patient centered medical home in order to address the multifaceted needs of the whole patient. As a comprehensive medical home, we are frequently referring the patients we see to additional services, such as behavioral health, nutrition and subspecialty care. While many of the services we refer patients to are located within our practice, many are not, or may not be available on the day of the visit.
We have noticed a low rate of follow up with these services and are interested in finding out why. There may be many barriers to accessing the services, but understanding these barriers will help us understand how to better deliver care and support our patients.
As a student, you will be assisting with the administration of a survey that will be provided to adult patients, and/or the parents or guardians of patients in order to help determine what barriers exist when accessing services that they have been referred to. This position is unpaid but offers valuable clinical experience.
Email Dr. Susan Harris (hh5046@wayne.edu) a copy of your CV/resume to apply. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
