Description

The purpose of this research is to: 1) develop an online discrete choice experiment (DCE) survey to examine preferences for smoking cessation interventions and 2) test the feasibility and validity of the DCE survey with Wayne State University students.
Our rationale is that DCEs are a valid tool to examine preferences for smoking cessation interventions and provide better estimates than either standard rating scales or ranking scales. To test the validity of DCE survey, we will develop rating scales to measure the same concepts and compare the results to DCE survey. To our knowledge, there is no DCE surveys developed to elicit preferences for smoking cessation interventions for college students.
