Description
This research project is designed to examine the language practices and schooling experiences of former K-12 students of Latinx descent through testimonios, personal narratives on bilingualism and biculturalism. Additionally the study explores the ways that testimonios by former students function as effective mentor texts for high school students to create their own written and digital narratives.
Qualifications
Interested in K-12 educational issues
Experience volunteering in secondary classrooms
Able to speak, read, and write Spanish and English
Knowledge of basic computer skills
Project Timeline
This project is ongoing and will continue through Spring of 2022.
Duties
The amount of time each week will be between 2 and 4 hours.
Responsibilities include:
-organizing data
-scheduling interviews and focus groups
-reviewing children's literature selections
