Description
The Center is seeking three research assistants to assist with school based research during the months of May and June. During these months, candidates must be available to collect data in metropolitan Detroit area K-12 schools from 8am-3/4pm at least three days each week. Compensation is $15/hour. Qualifications
The ideal candidate desires research training, is highly organized, and is able to work effectively with school teachers and children. Prior to going into the schools each undergraduate researcher will have to complete the CITI IRB training for working with children (specific modules will be given).
Project Timeline
The student needs to be available during normal school hours (8am - 4pm) from May 2nd - June 3rd. Most days will be Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays -- but some Thursdays and Fridays may be required.
Additionally, a two day training will be held prior to May 1st that is required.
Duties
You will be on a team of researchers who go into an elementary school setting and collect physical activity and nutritional data from children. Data will be in the form of physical data (height, weight, etc.) and survey data.
