Research Description

We are a translational neuroscience lab which focuses on peripherial neuron degneration in diseases such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Our primary focus is utilizing ultrasonography to detect axonal loss in peripherial nerves to act as a biomarker for drug developement. Additionally we we study both genetic and epigenetic causes of peripherial neuron degneration using patient derived motor and sensory neuron models (iPSC and direct) and murine models.
We have several ongoing projects ranging from clinical research to benchtop lab work.
