Narrative Bio

Dr. Ding is nationally and internationally renowned as an expert in stroke therapy, traumatic brain injury and thermal injury research. Dr. Ding has mentored over 30 graduate students in the lab. He has over 60 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and several book chapters. Dr. Ding is a member of the American Heart Association Stroke Council, the United States Society for Neuroscience, and the Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Research Council.

Dr. Ding's Publications

Research Description

His expertise as a researcher in biochemical sciences and neurosciences has led Dr. Ding to profound advances and conclusions with translational studies in stroke and traumatic brain injury. His research includes preconditioning on neuroprotection in stroke, intra-arterial infusion and local brain hypothermia, the beneficial effect of physical exercise on rehabilitation after stroke, hibernation-like and oxygen-induced neuroprotection. Very recently, Dr. Ding’s research is also focused on environmental diseases. Dr. Ding has published over 320 peer-reviewed articles and numerous abstracts, as well as many book chapters. Dr. Ding also serves as Editorial Boarder Member, Guest Editor, Associate Editor and Editor-in-Chief for more than 60 peer-reviewed journals.
