Research Description
My research utilizes cell lines, mouse models, patient tissue samples, and molecular biology and systems biology methods. It focuses on identifying mechanisms underlying risk factors for cancer because more effective prevention and treatment strategies depend on knowledge of risk mechanisms. Recent discoveries include a mechanistic link between asthma and lung cancer and findings that help to explain why obesity is a risk factor for the incidence and recurrence of breast cancer.
