Biography

Returning to his focus in the early 1980s, Jeff has led the entrepreneurship and innovation efforts in the business school since 2016, helping to secure a major gift to support those efforts. Recently, he has led the collaboration between the Wayne State School of Medicine and the Mike Ilitch School of Business, developing a new course in the "Business of Medicine" and leading the team developing the new cohort-based MD/ MBA dual degree program which was approved in 2022 and starts in 2023. He was associate dean for research and graduate programs in the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University from 2008-2011, and served as interim department chair for a brief period. He also served twice in a senior executive role for the university, forming the Dvision of Marketing Communication in 1997 and serving until 2001. He has been a member of the Wayne State marketing faculty since 1988, having previously served on the faculty of the University of Nebraska and as an instructor at Syracuse University. Jeff currently teaches in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, supports efforts within the greater Detroit entrepreneurial ecosystem, and is an active consultant, having worked with over 100 organizations, in areas such as strategy development and strategic planning, organizational change, marketing research and venture/ program development.

Research Description

Biography

Jeff is former Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs in the School of Business of Wayne State University (2008-2011), and former interim department chair. He has been a member of the Wayne State marketing faculty since 1988, having previously served on the faculty of the University of Nebraska and as an instructor at Syracuse University. Jeff teaches in the areas of consumer research, retailing and marketing strategy. Jeff is an active consultant, having worked with over 100 organizations, in areas such as strategy development and strategic planning, organizational change, marketing research, customer research and loyalty/relationship management, product development, and promotion strategy.
