Biography

 Dr. Gleason-Comstock has been a public health researcher for over two decades, serving as PI for eight grants, including an ongoing investigator-initiated Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Michigan grant. Her work has focused on translational research with interdisciplinary staff in population health, primarily directed towards investigation of cardiovascular health promotion and HIV/AIDS education and prevention. She has also worked on public health registry development and presented at national conferences. Dr. Gleason-Comstock has been first author on seven peer-reviewed public health research articles, and Editor for three years of the Michigan Journal of Public Health, a peer-reviewed, web-based journal which publishes findings in public health research and practice.

Research Description

I have been a public health researcher in community and global health education and risk reduction for two decades. Our multi-disciplinary research team conducts and publishes randomized control trials (RCT) and community-based participatory research (CBPR). Our work focuses on translational research and partnerships in population health, currently focusing on including HIV/AIDS prevention/risk reduction and innovative approaches to in heart health education.
